I don't want to forget the little things.

I have had a cold this week and have gone through many a tissue. This morning, Cora picked up a tissue of her own and pretended to blow her nose too. She was very proud of herself. So funny.

Ash Wednesday

11 Month Update

 Our not-so-little girl is now walking.  She took her first steps from the ottoman to the chair in our living room on January 24th.  Every day she gets a little bit more brave in her ventures.  She loves flipping through books and now she will pick them up and bring them to us to read.  She thinks its hilarious when we dance around in the kitchen.  She's still big time into phones and her little princess kitchen.

She devours yogurt melts, cheese puffs, cheese and yogurt.  Not so much fruits and veggies.  

She loves water from her sippy cup and LOVES drinking water from our cups.  

She can now point at what she wants, and does often.  Usually yogurt melts or cheese puffs.  

She loves to look at pictures and videos of herself

and is very impressed with her newfound two-legged stability and mobility.  

We are constantly cracking up at her, smooching her, and savoring every second of her littleness.

Valentines Day 2012

I LOVE Valentines day ... now.  Obviously back when I was single, I was not a big fan.  But now it just gives me an excuse to go out on an extra date with Michael which is not too shabby!  We made it extra special by going to a fancy pants restaurant, not something we normally do.  It was so nice to relax, drink wine and enjoy fabulous food!  There were a few other couples in the restaurant that toted along their little mini valentines, but ours was way too busy for such grow up shenanigans.  Cora had a play date with her college besties, Eli and Hannah.  The girls were so sweet, they brought us brownies and a super cute "Mr. & Mrs." journal for Michael and I to write notes back and forth in.  We are always leaving each other notes on scraps of paper and our whiteboard so I love that we will now have a special place to keep them.  We really appreciate those two! 

Mim's Visit

At the end of January, my lovely grandmother came to visit us for almost a whole week!!  Since I used to live with her, I definitely missed having that quality time with my former roomie.  We had a fantastic time shopping, eating, laughing and playing!  She hadn't been to College Station since my mom was at A&M, so we did a lot of exploring around the city.  We also got to spend a day with Tara and precious Sawyer.

We had a GREAT time at the Bush Library.  It was SO cool, I had no idea!  

We loved having her here and hope that she will come back very soon!  

A Day at the Park

Katie and I have been taking Cora and Damien to the park since before they could even sit up, but now they are really starting to enjoy it!  Look how cute these little nuggets look in the swings . . .

The swings were great and all, but Cora was mostly interested in the rocks.  

Her sweet friends Michael and Jane were nice enough to enjoy the gravel with her even though they are both fully capable of enjoying all of the park's more popular attractions.
